Education Being Selfish

Being Selfish, the moment we hear this word we feel bad about it. Negative thoughts start overpowering us. If we see around in the society people try to be extra generous, helpful, sweet and religious. But these people are the most dangerous people to the society. They always have two faces one is the outer face that they pretend and show to others to gather importance, sympathy and appreciation and the other is their real face which is entirely different from their pretentious face. It's my personal experience. I'm still suffering from my wrong decision of choosing a friend without knowing his real face. I just surrendered myself on his pretentious face. It is not important to be always good. At times it is important to think for your own self. Face the evil side of yours. Fulfill your desires and live for yourself. So anyone who wishes to be happy must be selfish, completely selfish. We don't really love our own self completely; we are too much dependent on others for our happiness. I genuinely feel if there is any conflict in the world, it is just because we are not selfish enough; we are too concerned about others. Two very important lessons that I have learned from my life experiences are that - Everyone is unique and nobody is perfect ever. The first lesson helped me to understand that we like it or not but we all are born unique and remain uniquely confused if we do not strive to love our uniqueness. But unfortunately most of our learning is through imitation only. I understand this is mostly hereditary problem; by trying one may manage to misplace whatever one get as inheritance but there are many things that are handed over to us as truths and that is why we are always taught to strive to become like someone else, usually someone great and famous. Most of us are not able to get rid of frozen thoughts that we get as legacy and the madness continue. I sense, whatever is taught to us are actually frozen thoughts .and we are supposed to take them as truths. Our undying faith in old and dead religions is testimony to this. No wonder most of us are doing mimicry of someone who influence us (it may be parents, religious Guru etc) for reasons unknown ...most of the time. This to me looks like sheer waste of time and energy beside it is like a constant burden on our little, delicate and precious mind. In these circumstances, the realization of the truth that one must be himself because everyone else is already taken is of great use. This helps us to remain selfish. I sense, the one who is completely selfish is living a unique truth, living like he was supposed to live in the first place. I don't understand why we want to undo all the trouble that the existence or eternal wisdom has taken to make us unique. The second lesson is actually realization of the fact that "nobody is perfect "helped me greatly to value others uniqueness and also to love others for whatever they are. It serves my selfishness completely because I am aware nobody can become like me ever. So there is no conflict of interest there, no competition. I sense, Love is the most selfish of all the passions because it not only reminds us of our own imperfection but also compel us to find someone who can complete us. It is like finding the missing piece of our own self. Since I have realized that everyone is unique, I am aware that I must love everyone else to fully discover my own self. I must be selfish enough to reclaim my missing pieces that everyone else is carrying.
